I need HELP....Cant decide

Do you have the Super reef Octo? or Reef Octo 100?

 

the SWC 120 Cone is for tanks from 55-90 gallons. Not 150G. You would need the 160 which is 275 I think.

 

I was waging the same choices for my née skimmer. I ended up with a bm nac7. $240 shipped and it's a conical design. So far ( it's 4 days old) I love it. It does a great job and it silent to run. I had a remora before this and I thought all skimmers were that loud. It's amazing how quiet it is

 

My build is only going to be a 46 gal. bf with 20g sump.

I don't need a skimmer rated for that manygal. Do I?

I don't have much experience with skimmers and have always had a skimmer-less tank. From my research it seems most reefers get skimmers rated for double their total water volume. Give or take.

 

I did look at the bm7 cone also. I have heard nothing but good things about BM skimmers from what I have read.

As I said before I have no experence with skimmers, this skimmer would not be to much for 46g dt w/ 20g sump/fuge?
