I have this coral its sort of white with what it seems to be orange polyp. I though It was an orange pinapple coral but it doesnt seem so. Does anyone out there know the name of this coral? I know the branch looking one is a Purple Rod Coral.

Its started to turn into mush and its losing its orange polyps ( I think that is what they are) Its a white mushy white stuff thats its turning into. This white stuff was firm and acte like putty. It would mold or form around the rock or anything it touched

It might not be a coral, maybe a sponge? The only corals I have seen that look anything like that, at least color wise are non-photosynthetic corals. You could try feeding it, see if it will take food. Have you noticed any tenticles around the polyps?

I would vote on Sponge as well. Or some sort of tunicate.

That looks like one of those fancy indo sponges to me, if so I dont think they do very well in aquariums.
