I need help to decide.

i think i've seen the kits before. are they any good?

 

yea i like them. took a 196gph maxi600 powerhead and turned it into a 1400gph tsunami making. they have 2 props, the real big one can be used on a 1200 maxijet and make 2100gph.. I did have trouble for coral placement for a while since i have 3150 gph in my 55g tank.

 

I bet you tank looked like a whirlpool. ;D

 

fish were flipping out when I first added them. but are fine now. need good flow for sps corals. I have to use LR chucks to block direct flow in front of some corals. but small price to pay.

 

I would go with a separate tank for the fuge. It will be easier to control the flow.

Yes.
I looked at the pros, and cons. I found a better filter with 370gph. I’m going to do a hob fuge on one side of the filter, and I’ll have the filter pad in the other side. But as soon as I get more money, I will make a fug in a separate tank. So I’ll start with #2, but I’ll add #1 in a couple mouths. I just thought 268 gph total flow (mj 1000 + 3 gph fuge) would not sufficient.
