Hi everyone I have a? I just got a cat shark I am very new at saltwater and a young age. Can anyone tell me the things i need to keep this shark alive! I have a small tank that I take care of myself. I only have had him for 3 days know and being doing really good I think! In the day time he does not move at all is breathing really hard but at night he swims non-stop. Is that a problem?

I don't have any experience with sharks but try to list some info about your tank. Like what size it is, what kind of lights and filtration you have etc. The behavior you posted sounds normal, they are nocturnal and since they don't move during the day they have to breathe hard to get water over their gills. Sharks are very very hard to keep for any amount of time though and it sounds like you have a pretty small tank and fairly new tank. I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm sure you can do it, but you need to read, read, read. Welcome to 3reef and welcome to the hobby.

Ouch...that little guy needs to be in a 180. Some sharks have to swim to breathe..this one I'm not sure about, they are also nocturnal
