I need help with prices.

As I find prices for livestock, I’ll post them and see what everybody thinks, Because I’m not good a determining if they are reasonable or not:-[.

These are the prices I can get at the stores around here
O clowns $18-$20
Black & white clowns $30 (I’ll probably gat a $15 off coupon soon)
Frogspawn frag, with “2 or 3 heads” $20
Xeina $20 per stalk
are these prices good, or are they rip offs?

 

All of the prices seem VERY reasonable, except for the xenia. Usually I see $10 frags, and I am sure you could get them FREE from someone here on the forum!

The price for the clowns are good IMO

 

They look good. As for the xenia, my LFS charges 25 per two stalk frags. But the reason most LFS do that is because some of them just get them in from costumers since they are fairly bad shippers and may just melt away even in a overnight ship. So if that is was your LFS does and does not cultivate it in their own tank, it sounds pretty reasonable.

 

Excluding the xenia, I think those are all very good prices. I often see xenia being given away because it is so invasive. lol. But a store won't sell it if they cant make a profit. I've seen it go for as low as $5 at my LFS.

 

they have a big colony of it in a display tank. They just cut off pieces as it sells:-/

 

Yeah, i think it should be cheaper..But depends on what type of xenia..Like the Red Sea i hear is one of the more ex*****ve ones. I have a large colony of the pink pom pom i sale frags from every month.

 

The kind they're selling is pink pom pom.

 

Thats pretty expensive still. I think 10-15 is fair with those..I sale it at 10 or so a stock.

 

Prices seem good to me. I'm in the Tampa area and every LFS around here charges $20 for Xenia. Must be a Florida thing.
