    That's a good one.

If it is, it won't be twice.

It is a genuine question, a avian vet told me that thay get attracted to mh lights because they resemble sunlight and i am just asking if anyone have a parrot and uses mh and do they have any problem

I have a Quaker Parrot and it has never really cared about the tank. The tank is now downstairs and the bird is up. But I just moved they used to be in the same room for 2 years. Never once did the bird go near the tank. Well on my sholder we will look at all the fish.

    I wouldn't worry about it
Also Greys are smarter than Quakers so it prob knows better

Wow, you have this parrot loose in your house? I would maybe consider moving it to another location if you really want the MH lighting and if it may pose a problem with the parrot. Btw, I love those birds!

My African Grey has never shown any interest in the light...

It is enclosed in a hood, but there are openings at either end with fans. No interest. She does like to watch the fish tho!;D

Birds should also be clipped for their own safety , and that should eliminate any issues. I am always afraid mine will jump from her cage the 4 feet over and into the open top of my tank, but it has never happened yet...and she cannot fly but....I always am nervous...hehe....:)

Thank for all your help, LoL my parrot once landed in the tank when i first got her, I keep her wings clipped and although she can fly a bit she show no interest in the tank anymore, I was a bit worried because the vet advise me not to get mh because it resemble sunlight and they get attracted to the light, but thanks to your help and advice i have decided to risk it and keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't try to fly on it
