OK I HAVE vho both wired to a ice-cap the power and ground and 0 are all wired from ice cap to a receptical plug in which is then wired to a extention cord. the draw back is it causeing both the artinic and the day time to come on at the same time. how can i rewire it to go to seprate timing and i also have a digital timer that is wired to a plug in. how can i fix this. here are some pics. can i put them on seprate timers. or should i just let the both come on and go off together? i want to do 2 hours(artinic) 10 hours(day/artinic) 2 hours (artinic)

RELAYS! 2 Timers, output of the timer to coil side of a 110v relay. Wire the power going to the bulbs through the normally open side of the relay. If you have 2 timers, 2 relays, this should only allow 1 bulb to come on when it's dedicated relay is pulled in. Set one timer (the actinic timer for the desired time setting) then set the other (daylight timer) to it's desired setting. As one timer "clicks" it should energize the coil of one of the new relay's allowing power to flow from the ballast to the bulb. Same with the other. I will try to draw a quick diagram.

This is very cheesy i know (Paint) but maybe this will help. Don't mind the coloring, that is just to make tracing easier.

When 1 timer goes off, it will energize the relay's coil. When that happens, it closes power from one side of the ballast to a wire going to a single bulb. Same with the other but the power is wired to the other bulb.
