Check around on a bit. Some websites are a lot more than others. I bought my bit for about 10 bucks....cant remember off the top of my head where from though. I did a lot of shopping around. If you do it yourself just remember.....slow and gentle....oh and did I mention slow and gentle?

Fine if you have an internal overflow box. Not fine if you don't. In a power outage, your entire tank would drain into your sump and cause a flood.

I think bulkreefsupply will be cheaper. Also one thing you could consider is durso standpipes. This is what I have on my tank. I then built custom overflow boxes to conceal them. Durso standpipes are quiet.

Ebay is cheaper, I buy every bit I have ever used from there. Takes a day or two to get them but you can get a 42mm bit for a 1.5" bulkhead fitting less that 10 bucks shipped. These bits are all I have ever used and I have cut a boatload of holes with them.

All my tanks are drilled with the returns at the top and drains at the bottom. You just have to use a durso and it works great. With the durso stand pipe its allot quieter than having the drains at the top.
