I have a beginning stag of ich in my tank. My powder tang, coral beauty and domino damsel have got it. I have a lot of rock in my tank with lots of tunnels and caves. How do you catch these guys to quarinteen them. I know there must be a trick. Soon as I put net in water they are gone. Even if I put food in tank. I could use some advice. It is a 90 gallon with almost 200 lbs of rock.

first off...are you sure you want to move them? if two of them are showing signs of ich..then all of them have it..i would just keep good water quality and feed with garlic..if your fish are swimming and eating they should be able to fight it off on their own

If they are still eating I would just leave them alone. The stress of you getting them out of the tank into quarentine probably outweighs the benefits. If your parameters are in check and they are eating, they should make it through just fine.

use two hands, one to flush and limit escape routes, (they don't know your hand is too clumsy to catch them), creep up somewhat with the net, but at the last second be quick.

thanks guys I will use a lure and 6lb test line. Just kidding. I kind of wandered if leaving them and good water and garlic would do it. They are eating and will do water changes every 3 or 4 days for a couple of weeks. I was drinking and went aginst my rule of not buying from chain pet store ( not going to give name)and got the coral beauty. Low and behold it brought it to my tank. I will only buy from a local fish store or foster and smith from now on. Moral don't impulse buy. I hate that a 2 year old tank got its first ich outbreak from a chain fish store I feel so dumb.
