I just replaced my old acrylic sump/refugium with a 29 gallon glass tank with glass baffles. My return pump is a Mag7 and it vibrates like crazy on the glass bottom. I have it resting on a scotch brite pad but that doesn't seem to help much. I thought about cutting up an old computer mouse pad but not sure about the glue on it. Foam, neoprene, I just don't know. Any ideas on something safe to put the pump on to dampen the vibration?

I used a mouse pad and it worked great. Later I suspended the plumbing in the tank so the pump was "floating" and that made it so quiet. mine was a mag 9.5

You could use gel superglue to glue them together. Don't know what, but probably something rubbery would absorb much of the vibration. I know how you feel about the noise. I had a Mag 24 and I went nuts. I could hear it from another room.

Thanks for suggestions. I may do the mouse pad trick since I have one.

I've done that on my old 35g with the 12g sump. It worked great. Many people use old mouse pads.

I bought a small undergravel filter for a 5gallon tank. The one panel fits a mag pump nicely. I attached it together and it helps. Also use something wherever your return line touches anything. I used a piece of filter from my overflow, it's about the same diameter.

If you have the PVC directly connected to the pump you could do vinyl to PVC. The vinyl will make it a bit quieter in addition to the above suggestions.
