    Im having trouble with my torch coral and my clam. I could see a little of the "lip" from the calm but not like before, The same with the torch. For the past week or so they havent come out like before. Every other coral is fine except these two. I just did a 25gal water change on Monday. If you look at my sign. you can see what livestock I have. My lights(MH & actinics) where last changed 7.15.07. I just tested my water and here are my results;
    Temp--78.5
    PH--8.1
    Mag--1290
    Alk--4.11
    Dkh--11.5
    salt--1.024-5
    Cal--420
    No2--0
    Nh3--0
    No3--15-20ppm
    Po4--0
I also just changed out the chemi-pure(carbon) on Monady and the filter pads. I know some/most of you guys like to have some of those #'s a little higher but I like it that way for the most part. If you can think of something else that I may have missed, plz let me know. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe its time to change the light bulbs. From my test results, I cant figure it out. What could be wrong??? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you use tap water or R/O? If tap, it could be some pollutant. Nitrates are a little high but the clam should be ok with it that high.

Nitrates are the only thing I wee elevated but it isn't anywhere near dangerous. It is possible you have some kind of infestation. Maybe flatworms? After the lights go out use a flashlight and see if you can see anything on the coral or clam. It's best to pick it up and get it right up next to the glass.

edit: How long have they been like this? If it is recent they may have been irritated by some carbon dust. Have you moved any of your powerheads recently?

Raven- I Have an R/O unit, which all the filters where changed just recently. No I dont have a tds meter. I almost did but they cancelled my order.

DiamondBitsUSA---Its been like this for the past week. the only coral that has flat worms are the goni's and they get cleaned off regularly. The no3 have been that way for some time now and it never bothered them before. I dont have powerheads in my tank, only spray bars. I havent done anything new to them, they have been with me for over 7 months now and I never had a problem.

Have the salinity or pH spiked or changed recently?

Just guessing, but you may have a "coral war" going on in there & toxins are building up.

    Also a very high bio-load.

I would do a couple more back to back water changes...at least what you did before.
