I never wanted an aquarium...

I never wanted an aquarium, ever.
Do I hate fish and other aquatic life? No!
Am I allergic? Not that I'm aware of.
But I know that some things will be addicting, and I know my perfectionist/OCD tendencies...
...so better not start something like this, right?

Well, just a week ago a friend got me a betta fish and a fish bowl.

Needless to say I couldn't have a nice fish like that be bored in a bowl, so I had to read up on how to make the bowl as self sustaining as possible, and now the bowl contains three Ghost Shrimp, an African Aquatic Dwarf Frog, three White Cloud Montain Minnows, some plants, and of course "Bugatti" the all-blue Betta that started it all.

Of course, the plant needs light, and a fishbowl quickly overheats, so I was trying to find an LED lighting system for a fishbowl: no luck.

But I found the Ecoxotic Pico tank, which would give my fish more space, allow for a few bigger plants, and a few more small fish, etc.

See where this leads? Did I mention I never wanted an aquarium?

And now I already hear noises about buying a 25-30 gal. reef tank.
All started by a betta....

Well, and thus I landed here, because I'm sure there will be questions, eventually.
