i was fishin around in the tank and overturned a large clamshell,,this guy ran over my hand and absolutely scared the bejesus out of me!
i can't find any pictures that look like him on the net or in my books.
he has 1 orange ring around the end of both claws, both claws are about the same size too,i have no idea how/when he got in there. amazing that i spend about an hour a day and another hour at night watching the tank and never saw him before,, he must have been in there awhile too! anybody know what he is?

I've had them bad boys hitch hike too. Mine were a shade of blue. I never positively ID'd mine but I pulled it and gave it away. Sorry, but I don't trust hitchhikers!! ;-)

theres a small possibility he could be a native new england crab too as all my sand came form the beach back when i set it up but he doesnt look like them either,, he's sharing a tidepool with my starfish for now,if he doesnt get belligerent he can stay! he's built for battle though thats for sure

One thing I have never been able to stand is the feeling of a crab moving across my skin. I could never pick them up. Not even the small ones. I know, what a wus. But they do creep me out for some reason.
