I'm pretty upset with myself and need to vent. Yesterday I purchased a rose bubble tip anemone, after having done a fair amount of research. I selected it carefully, and drip acclimated it for about 1.5 hours before putting it in my tank. So far so good.

Now here comes the stupid part - 1) It moved a lot after a few hours from where I put it. So I (stupidly) decided to pick it up and move it back. But in that process I must have hurt its foot, since it would not stick to any surface after that, and just floated around. I eventually placed in on the sandbed in a low flow area, wondering if it would survive the night.

In the morning I came down, and found it halfway into one of my Koralia 4s, which I (stupidly) forgot to cover.

2 stupid rookie mistakes which cost the life of a creature in my care. Sorry about venting, but I feel pretty bad right now. At least I got it out of the tank in one piece and did not get any pollution or nitrate spikes. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Yeah, although it was still in one piece it looked pretty mashed up by the K4. And I couldn't remove it from the powerhead without damaging it further.

Well, I'm bummed about the 55 bucks wasted, but even more so about the death. So far in my 9 months in the hobby I've lost 2 flame angels to parasites, 1 hawkfish and 1 diamond goby to jumping. But this is the first death I can attribute to pure stupidity when I should have known better. Hopefully the next deaths in my tank will be from old age!

Sorry to hear about your nem. We all make some mistakes in this hobby, the importent part is that we learn from them and dont do it again, and pass on what we learned to others so that they may learn also.
