When I first got mine it got sucked into the intake of my Emperor HOB filter. I was able to meticulously pull the tentacles out. Some tentacles ripped but it survived and is thriving. Just because it was floating doesn't mean you damaged its foot. It could just mean it's unhappy and letting the current take it to a new place on the reef. Did you throw it out or are you trying to get it to attach?

No, it was pretty ripped up and was either dead or very well on its way to being dead.

Divott - I got it at a place called reef aquatica (Reef Aquatica). It is basically a guy who collects exotic clownfish and other interesting creatures who does a side business of selling aquarium products from his house. Some very nice anemones (pink and green) at very good prices. Also some really interesting clownfish if you are in to that stuff - much better than the ones I saw at Big Al's. If I ever get another bubble tip anemone it will likely be from there.
