I came up with this idea(it's probably already been thought before) but what of we each saw colors differently? Like when I see red, it may look like green to you. But we both call it "red". Like we all see different colors but we agree on what there called. I hope that makes since, it's hard to put into words.

    :)

I think I have that problem. My mandarin dragonet doesn't look orange to me but I still call it a mandarin because everyone else does.

I also had the same thought when I was younger, and also thought it was pretty revolutionary. Most people thought I talking crazy talk when trying to explain it, though.

The question has been asked a lot over the years and I don't believe there's an absolute concrete yes/no answer to it. Physically, there will be differences in the receptors in my eyes compared to yours which means right off the bat we might see and perceive colors a bit differently. Here's some interesting material for you to skim through. My thinking is while we might see shades of colors differently and experience them differently, the big blue ocean I see is not a giant orange one to you. (As I perceive orange :p)

How you perceive and experience things, (Qualia)
Qualia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

List of unsolved problems in philosophy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The question hinges on whether color is a product of the mind or an inherent property of objects. While most philosophers will agree that color assignment corresponds to light frequency, it is not at all clear whether the particular psychological phenomena of color are imposed on these visual signals by the mind, or whether such qualia are somehow naturally associated with their noumena. Another way to look at this question is to assume two people ("Fred" and "George" for the sake of convenience) see colors differently. That is, when Fred sees the sky, his mind interprets this light signal as blue. He calls the sky "blue." However, when George sees the sky, his mind assigns green to that light frequency. If Fred were able to step into George's mind, he would be amazed that George saw green skies. However, George has learned to associate the word "blue" with what his mind sees as green, and so he calls the sky "blue", because for him the color green has the name "blue." The question is whether blue must be blue for all people, or whether the perception of that particular color is assigned by the mind."

That's exactly what I'm saying!:) I guess it could be possible since all light we see is just what was reflected off of objects. I suppose our eyes could differ in how we perceive it. But what IS real is that things actually don't have color. Nothing has a color. Things just reflect light. So If you were to step into another deminsion it's possible that things would be white. See what I'm saying ?

    I had the same thought

    High five dude

I hear this from time to time and may I offer the definition of color as offered by google:

The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.

So, really, everything has color. By definition...
