Physically an object reflects a specific wavelength of light which we observe...or more specifically, an object absorbs light of specific wavelengths depending on the vibrations of the molecules in the object therefore, the light that is not absorbed is what we we observe. So the wavelength that is reflected is a physical constant of the material and will not change.

The question is whether or not the human eye processes the non absorbed wavelengths differently, this would mean that there is a physiological difference in the eye between individuals. There would have to be a fundamental difference in the rods and cones in the structure of the eye...which I assume would be fairly straight forward to identify.

I cannot think of an evolutionary reason why an eye would vary in physiological structure in that way, and I believe that the processing of the incoming light would be a constant.

Now if the eye could see in infrared, that would be a whole different story.

lots of rummy, but I am guessing no rum? I would imagine that could lead to potential issues.

I would go nuts in a submarine for that long...holy moly, just the thought of it makes me uncomfortable.

Sorry, not meaning to imply you are naive. I just meant my old butt shouldn't be making those types of jokes with you youngsters browsing the forums! Carry on, I have an episode of Jeopardy I need to go watch in my recliner.
