    Hey guys,
I attached a link to the sump I'm referring to. An Aqueon Proflex sump. It has a sponge just before the clean water area to cut down on the bubbles of course. I'm thinking to maybe cut the sponge in half and put a piece of phospure pads in between it that way I can get some chemical filtration just before the clean water area. What do you guys think?

Sump: Aqueon » Products » Aqueon ProFlexâ„¢ Modular Sump Filtration

Phospure pads: Aquarium Chemical Filtration & Phosphate Remover: Foster & Smith Aquatics PhosPure® Pads

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

    Mike

Interesting idea, sounds like it could be feasible.

I'm thinking that is a fairly expensive long term solution. Can you get those at BRS? Otherwise thats a good chunk of change that could go directly to a GFO and/or Carbon reactor. And a GFO will work for real while you might not directly notice a difference with the pads. Seems kinda gimmicky IMO.

Granulated ferric oxide. You use it in a reactor to reduce phosphates.
