So yesterday, I thought it would be OK if I relocated my Xenia. I carefully picked it up and turned the rock to a better angle. It immediately started to shrivel up.

This is what it looked like before - The one to the right.

Here is what it looks like 24 hours later.

What gives ? Are they really this sensitive ? Will it come back to life ?

Oh, and in case it doesn't, I picked up a toadstool today...

I've had to move my xenia a couple of times & it too shriveled up for a day or two, and then back to normal.

    BTW, love the toadstool!

    Oh good, thanks.

Yeh, me too. It was the only thing that I added that didn't go into shock at all. Went right back to what it was in the store. They must be hardy..

Its really amazing what they can look like before and after and still be alive ...
Just before it went to nothingness.. The base got all puffed up as the arms were shrinking...

    Weird little things..

After moving some xenia on some live rock in trash cans more than a 45 minute ride in the cold and out and pulsing the next day I don't think it is possible to kill this stuff anymore as long as params a good. You will be ok.

No, I dont think you can kill it either unless there is something really wrong with the levels in your tank. My xenia keeps climbing to the top of the tank, and the small tissue bits that they leave behind...it grows more baby xenias. But, they are very sensitive, so they should be out by the next couple days, nothing to worry about.
