I have recently upgraded my pumps. I have a Aquan 950 and a Koralia nano of some sort so I'm kicking out at least 20x turnover in my 55 gallon. I never see the firefish unless I turn off the pumps. I'm not a fan of this because 1. He only stays in a small corner unless I have the flow turned off using any pump. 2. I don't want it to starve or develop fatty liver.

My Hoeven's wrasse on the other hand is very much out and about so I think I should opt for some more active swimmers. I wanted 3 or 4 others. I have about 60lbs of LR and am a huge fan of the wrasse family. I also want royal gramma, a flame angel and midas blenny. I do plan on keeping corals but I have seen a lot of well known people keeping them. Any suggestions would be helpful.

The firefish needs to acclimate to the flow change, give it time. The Gramma will stay in rocks most of the time also.

It's been about 3 weeks. I've been thinking of bury a pipe in the middle so he has more burrows and doesn't just camp in the one corner.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Royal Grammas and Fire fish are 2 of my favorite fish. One because of the coloration and secondly because of their mostly peaceful and passive ways.

It actually takes months IMO for those fish to begin to feel comfortable. They will both dart into their bolt holes if they are not used to any activity around the tank.

Sometimes Flame Angels will initially be shy as well.

I got the firefish last december. I dont have any lps in the tank so I guess I'll just leave the power heads on for a week or so and see if I see it come out.

It's coming out today, every-time it catches me looking it flies right back in.

My goby took 3 weeks to come out of hiding after introduction. Even now, he just sits well under a rock waiting for feeding time. Eventually he will become more comfortable.

Give your fish time and try not to make sudden movements around the tank. He'll be out eventually!

So as not to start a new thread, I'm thinking of stocking for this tank should be the firefish, my hoeven's wrasse, a Ocellaris, a yellowtail damsel and finally the flame angel. In that order since the wrasse is already in there from a previous build. I can have the quarantine tank on standby as a second tank if there are any compatibility issues.

I wouldn't recommend a Damsel ;) They can be very aggressive.
