I think im stupid?

    Ok so here it goes i just got my octopus bh1000 skimmer. I unboxed it assembled it and hung it on back of my tank...plugged it in and its not on? is it defective? or am i just moronic and dont realize there is a switch on the pump

    So when you plug it in, you cannot feel any vibration from the pump? Is it plugged directly into the wall or a surge (just checking the basics)? If you do not feel or hear anything and have tried 3 outlets you may have a bad pump.

    when i plug it in the pump does not vib, or make any noise. i've tried plugging it into a power strip with the rest of my cords, and then tried a different outlet still nothing. I'm guessing its a bad pump?

    I don't think so but...

    Do they have a run dry protection circuit? Are you putting water in to "prime" any pumping action?
