I think my magnificent fox face is dying

he is jus laying around and is really dark...all my other fish seem happy any ideas? he was just fine yesterday

My foxface does that in the back of the tank for no appearent reason then comes out of his camo and is happy as ever...

Or is your foxface like this 100% of the time?

 

mine does this sometime. have any mean fish or inverts in the tank? lighting okay? light cycles make mine go camo... how long has he been in the tank?

 

i just noticed now. and its half through the day time. when i saw him hiding i tried chasing him out and he didnt move. he never does this with light on. its not really his normal camo either its like pure brown/black. now hes just laying on the sand.

ooo that doesnt sound good. do yo have a QT? if you do put him in there and monitor him. is he breathing heavily?

 

no qt...hes been fine for like 2 weeks. idont know what could have change in this 2 weeks

WOW that is truely something. i am honestly not sure what it is but it doesnt look good sorry to say... but dont take my word for it! what is he living with? is there sufficient oxygen in the tank?

 

he is with a naso tang 2 false percs cleaner wrasse orange spotted goby tiny pygmy hawkfish 2 chromis and a skunk cleaner. there should be sufficient o2 with the skimmer and one of the maxi jets is pointed toward the surface. only fish i would think would pick on it would be the naso but he left em alone most of the time and the fox face actually got the naso to eat algae again. before that he pretty much only ate mysis shrimp.
