I'm pretty sure it's not fin rot because it just happened overnight. My firefish also had 3 straight line scratch marks on its body that looks way too much like the shrimps pincers

I had a royal gramma and a midas blenny in a 20 long QT together. The midas blenny and him fought and the blenny took a small chunk out of the gramma's fin as well. It could be the blenny in your scenario as well as they tend to sometimes fight. Assuming you have a larger DT, it should be fine once they go in the DT together. You might try to separate the gramma and blenny by using some mesh or putting the gramma in its own QT.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I agree to all of the above, not an aggressive fish but one that needs it's own territory.

This commonly is not an aggressive fish that will chase down other fish to their territories and engage in battles unlike a Dotty back, Clown or some Wrasse.

There are exceptions but for the most part a good fish IME.

Well i was almost positive that it was the coral banded so earlier today i tried to fish him out of the tank and he lost his pincers so i guess we will see if it was indeed the shrimp or something else.

The marks on the firefish are imo just too odd for a fish to do. Picture 3 vertical cuts spaced out exactly the same going from the top to bottom of the firefish. On the other side there are more wounds and skin hanging. On the gramma there is also a scratch mark right behind the cut off fin. I have seen the goby defend is territory and all it does is swim at the fish with an open mouth, but that's it. On the other hand i have seen fish swim to close to the coral banded and the shrimp extends it's claws and snaps at the fish.

What i don't understand is the fish are fast and wouldn't let something sneak up on them, and if the shrimp or another fish tried to catch them they would dart away. Especially being able to wound a firefish 3 times without it escaping? I guess only time will tell now.

Yeah, they are peaceful as long as you have a big tank, that is not overstocked, so, lots of territory. As others have said, they are very aggressive if there is insufficient territory. As most people seem to have small and/or overstocked tanks, they are probably more aggressive than not LOL.

Coral banded shrimp are known fish predators and exceptionally aggressive residents when they become older and larger.

For some reason i quit getting forum notifications after a day or two, but yeah the shrimp is a giant. I've had him for years and he's probably like 4 inches long.

So far so good, no new wounds on fish. I'm going to have to find him a new home soon before his claws grow back in.
