I really want another Tang!!! I have a purple tang that calls my 90 home. is there any other tang out there that somebody could recommend without any problems?

I know I may need to get one more aggressive that the purple tang to try to bully the new comer. Powder blue tang was the first one to pop in my head.... but simple fact is they are ich magnets.

Im also limited with a 90 gallon. But I beleive Im ok to have another in there. Maybe Im wrong

    Help if you can please

+1 to blue hippo. Powder blues are really a lot harder to keep than what seems. If you try a powder tang (whether it be blue or brown) it seems it would be best to have that the only tang, unless its an extremely large tank.
Some others for your 90 that should play well with the purple:
    Kole tang
    Mimic tang
    Tomini Tang

Becarful putting a sailfin in with a purple tang. I got away with it I think because my tank is a 240. In a 90 they will likely fight to the death. Atleast that is what the books and liveaquaria say.

I would avoid any zebrasoma tang (sailfin, yellow, scopas) due to the similar body shape.

A kole or a Tomini, or how about a 2 spot bristletooth tang?

Those are great janitors, and are good to have in a reef tank.

I have a Kole and a big sailfin, that can't decide whether it is a red sea or a standard sailfin.

Kole or Chevron...The Chevron is a bit pricey but we have had one in with a Blue Hippo and they have done well together for over 2 years. Of the two the Chevron is the least agressive...The Kole as it gets older becomes quite territorial...8)

I had a Scopas and a Yellow. they did not "fight", but they would chase each other around all day. I think it was too much activitey for my other fish. I also had a Hippo at the same time, but it was pretty small.

So now I have the Yellow and Hippo. All the other fish are out and about all day now that the Scopas is gone. I know Hippos are common, but I really like them.

With 2 tangs in a 4' tank your just asking for trouble. You might get away with a smaller tang like a kole or a tomini, but even that would still be pushing it. Definitely stay away from the powder blue, all of the success stories I have read on them involve very large and very established tanks (240+). You could try a small hippo or sailfin if you plan on upgrading to a 6' tank any time soon . . . but forget about the naso unless you have something 8' in the works.

Anything is going to be rough as your purple has already claimed that 48" x 18" patch of ocean as his own and may react violently to any new comers
