What a cute fish!!! Doesn't look like it would get to a foot - not sure how cute it would be then! Very cool.

I had a temperate 30 gal, cold water, tank with two tiny sea robins, hermit crabs and two small limulus, horseshoe crabs. They all did beautifully. The sea robins are similar in appearance to this flying gurnard. The robins walk across the bottom on "fingers" protruding from their pectoral fins. Of course all but the hermit crabs would eventually outgrow that tank, but they were fun for a year and a half. I returned them to the Atlantic where I had originally netted them, off Cape Cod.

180 gallons would be generous. I would say 8' tank would be much better for swimming room, probably best for public aquariums. They are really cool looking though.

    Very neat fish..
From the writeup, it says nothing about coral, just small fish and shrimp and such.. as reef safe as a volitan.

also the Marine betta, I will get one one day...
