i want to build a frag tank

    hey guys i want to build a frag tank i have 2 4 foot tanks thinking i would turn one into a sump. what are the majour things that i need ?? i really know nothing about frags

    With frag tanks stability is the key.

    Its best to match the lights up with your current setup so your frags will have less stress when moved to the frag tank. Your sump should house allot of live rock for good filtration since you wont have many in the frag tank. Personally I would make the fuge part oversized for this.

    I thought about setting up a frag tank for the last month, then I just decided to put some frag racks on the bottom of my DT and call it a day!

    Much easier!

    The major components will be lighting and flow. The next most important piece of equipment imo would be a protein skimmer. I would also make a sump out of the extra tank and have a good bit of live rock as well as a large amount of chaeto. This will provide a nice amount of biological filtration.
