    Hi, everybody!

My 55 is over a year old and I have plenty of coral, inverts and fish including a pair of false perculas to host it. I really really like the Rose Anemone but have never kept an anemone in all my years in this hobby so need some advice???

My main concern is it stinging, killing my other coral while tryin to find its seat of choice, how big of an issue is this. Can this anemone really cause havoc in my tank or is it not such a big deal? If so, are there other anemone that may be a better choice?

They all can cause some huge destruction. after they settle in they can be very stationary, but there really is no telling how long it may take for it to pick a spot and stay there.

I have a condy anemone, and some coral.
When it stings my coral, the coral curls up, but no damage to the coral.
I’m going to get a rose bta in January, and I’m not worried about my coral.

One of the main reasons I don't have an anemone is b/c they can move whenever they want and can cause pretty bad destruction. I've read numerous threads about them moving and getting stuck in a hole or under a rock where they won't receive enough light or eating fish or stinging other corals. They're just not for me. You can try though, see if you can get one from a lfs that will let you bring it back or at least get store credit if it gets out of control.

I read a while ago that they usually like a spot where their foot can be in complete shade and the meaty part can get as much light as it wants with moderate to low flow. I just so happen to have such a spot, and introduced a huge RBTA to my mixed reef last month. I moved anything I really cared about away from it just in case, but so far it has stayed put completely and looks amazing in my tank.
