I want to spear my puffer

Well I added bunch of new coral and blah my lil punk valentini has taken a liking to my new digi's and acan. Well after many failed attempts hes still uncaught and I think hes on to me, every time I come near the tank he goes strait to the bottom, should I wait till night when hes sleeping and attempt to net him or fishtrap him? I do love puffers at night cuz they dont move!

 

a person i knew has a sps dominated 210 gallon. He had a moorish idol for 2 years and then it decided to go crazy on his corals... he couldnt catch it so he made up a small spear gun out of a hanger.

lol omg now ive made a soda bottle trap with good food in it and everyone else but my stupid puffer wants it, jeez he needs to come out of my tank!

those traps work good! usually for every fish except the one you want out!! I had one set for some damsels that I couldnt get out. Left it for a good 2 days and nothing.

 

ya this sux, i want to get him and drip him off at the fish store on my way to work tomorrow, ima wait till he goes to sleep and place a net in front of him and startle him into it and throw him in the sump, way easier to catch him in there, then maybe my corals will grow and prosper and not be bullied.

 

This may sound wierd, but you may try a fishing pole using freeze dried krill as the bait. I know mine and most puffers go nuts for the stuff. Might be good to wait until the night when the other fish are hiding in the rock.

lol i was waiting for you to chime in, i really do liek him but the wife says no to a pico which was a backup plan to put him in but my corals are more important than him, hes a smart lil bugger to he knows ive been trying to catch him!
