I got a frag of polyps about 3 weeks ago and noticed some of them seemed to disappear. Today I noticed these little purple snowflakeish things in their place. I think ive seen coral that looks like this but im not certain what it is. So please let me know what it is and if it is a problem and I will greatly appreciate it!

Do they shoot off spores or anything or just spread out near themselves, if so I think they look kind of neat and would like to keep em. gonna have to do some research! thanks for the id!

Looks like a type xenia, non pulsing. I can't eradicate them. They can overtake a rock quickly.

You can cut them off the rock or just let some grow in a corner of the tank. I usually just remove it and give it away to local reefers. I prefer pulsing xenia that I have in my daughters tank. Xenia grows very quickly and is almost indestructable.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Xenia forums stalks it does not have the mat type of growth that I see in the images. Agree with Vinny it's a Clove Polyp of some type.
