I was Told this was devil`s Hand coral

    It kindda looks like a devil`s hand but it doesn`t have all those polyps on it. All it has are these bump type polyps. They suck in if you touch them and then come back out when everything is clear. At night they go in for sleep and in the morning they come back out for the day, so they act like polyps but they don`t look like them, they are just bumps. Is this an actual devil's hand? or maybe a different specimen of devil's hand? I've seen the mother colony which had normal polyps on it.

    Yes it's Devil's Hand.

    Don't get overly concerned with leather corals. They are moody and may close up for days on end, especially when they are shedding.

    The only time to be really concerned is when you notice deterioration like rotting areas or flesh that appears to be melting.
