when i add any of my fish and inverts in the future i will first float the bag in the tank for 45mins to make the water in the bag the same temp as the display tank
then empty the fish and water from the bag into a bucket.
i will set up a air line tube so that i can drip acclimate them
i will let the water double in the bucket then remove some of the water in the bucket then start again.i will do this for around 1hr 30mins - 2hrs
the shop that i will be buying my fish from are about 30mins drive from my home.

is this all ok to do?

This is ok. I have heard good and bad things about the drip method (which is what I have done in the past). I am not sure if its necessary to float the bags if you are going to drip – but its all good.

Make sure you turn off the lights when you float the bags and keep them off after you add the fish – it helps with the stress level.

I have never dripped a fish, just let the bag float for a while then scoop them out and place in the tank. Never lost a fish that way.

you dont need to float the bag if your gonna drip it and you realy dont want n e of the water from your lfs to be mixing with your tank water
