    crap. Oh well ;D

    They are not all captive bred. There are still plenty being wild caught, sadly, they don't do well, usually have parasites or disease, and do not take to anything but live food, usually. Always exceptions of course!

    The one I am looking at, the capensis, I believe is/was on the endangered list. I am not really sure how that applies to CB, I guess it is OK to buy them if they sell them on line, captive bred only.

    Yeah, some are pricey...the dwarf ones tho are only 2o bucks!

    Well I hope you get one, I'd like to learn more about them.
    I think Ocean Riders is the expensive farm I was thinking of. But maybe it's worth it.

    You know, I recall a pic of JohnO's seahorse tank (seriously!) what happened to that?

    I never saw the appeal in the dwarfs myself....too small :) I like the h. erectus because they are medium sized which makes them quite visible. They were also captive raised so feeding was a piece of cake. I don't know anything about the other species you mentioned because I've never kept them.
