Well my tank is going great i havent killed a coral yet in my life and i was wandering if i could get a hammer coral. My calcium is a little low but i just wanted to know if i could still do it cause hammer corals dont last long where i come from and they will be gone from the store soon.

    nitrate 15
    nitrite0
    ph 8.3

Your Calcium and Alk are both low and your Nitrate is a little high. What methods do you use for these? What lighting do you have? What other corals have you successfully kept?

There is nothing in your profile on what you have. How old is the tank set up? What is your Mag level? Alk is o.k. but low due to cal being low and cal is low more than likely because mag is low. What type of lighting do you have and how old are the bulbs?

2 things, need to see test results for magnesium and I would try to bring down the nitrates to something under 10ppm. a few mangrove trees will do that pretty quickly.

Agreed. unclejed hit it right on the head with the mag being the unknown factor.
