Ice Cap MH 250 watt ballast

Did Ice Cap stop making the 250watt Metal Halide ballast? I have to replace both of my ballasts after they were destroyed last month when my basement flooded, from a backed up storm sewer drain. Has anyone seen these available anywhere, I checked our sponsors but all I found say "out of stock".

Ice Cap is no longer in business from what I understand. Ballasts are no more. The patent for them was picked up by another company, but will most likely never be reproduced.

 

Did you check Ebay or Amazon?

Can anyone suggest another ballast to use? I was told that vertex matches up with the same plugs, that the icecap has, but would like to hear from someone who has one. I found icecap on amazon but if they go bad there is no warranty, which is definetly not good.

 

Icecap VHO ballast repairs were picked up by Coralvue but the MH ballasts owners are not getting any love. I would consider Sunlight Supply Galaxy Ballast as they are a huge horticulture company and have an excellent ballast support and warranty. I like the select-a-watt ballast as you can choose multiple wattage outputs.

 

I run Lumateks (basically sunlight supply) Selectawatts and I love them.

I run a dual Galaxy ballast for my 250 and have good experience with it after several years.
