I bought an IceCap 660 but it came with out the wiring harness. I have bought the connectors what I need is if someone could take a close-up picture of their wiring and post it. I would really appreciate it. I need pictures of both the 16 pin and the 4 pin.

Thanks in advance for your help ;D

I'm new to all this aquarium stuff. I've been buying books, magazines are reading a lot here. I'm still a little confused as to exactly what a ballast is?
Don't mean to hijack your thread, but figured a good place to ask.

Well here is an offical definition

light ballast (an electrical device for starting and regulating fluorescent and discharge lamps)

Also used with Metal Halide lighting. When you buy a complete light fixture it will include the ballast. If you want to build your own to create a custom one you buy them and other componets to make up your lighting. Hope this helps.

Here is an explanation in engineering prospective. A florescent light is tube filled with gas and it has at each end a filament just like an incandescent light bulb. When you first flip the switch that starts the ionizing trigger that is built into the ballast, which is the small device that controls the electrical current that feeds the electrodes. At this time an extra electron is forced into the gas and all your electrons start to bounce around inside the tube every time they bounce they emit photons and that is the light you see.

    Hope that clarifies some

Ardo_sky, would you mind taking a picture of the other plug (the 4 pin) the one that goes to the wall outlet.

    Thank you

I do not have anything plugged into the four pin. The Gren,White and Black wires coming off the main harness is going to the wall plug.

The 4 pin plug is for a dimmer that works only with VHO bulbs. The wires for your power cord will be wired to the black, green, and white wires on the wire harness.
