I'm replaceing the ballests on my 3 month old Catalina light fixture with Icecaps. ( it's a real horrer story as to why ) I am using the Icecap 175 watt ballests. On the output side they have 2 red wires and 1 green wire. The fixture has 3 prong plugs. Are the red wires from the ballest interchangeable? or if I hook em up wrong am I gonna blow up the ballest?

Not sure, the ballast should have a wiring diagram on them, if not the manufacturers site should have the diagram.

What kind of icecap ballasts are they? Are they new ones??

I have 2 IC 250w electronic ballasts, the old style, and they have diagrams right on them. Also, there is only one of each color wire on my 250w icecaps, so there is no way to get confused with wiring.

not to change the subject, but you would think catalina would send your free replacement ballasts if unit is only 3 months old.. did you email them.. always good to have backup even if you get the icecaps to work.
