Ich and quarantine tank question

    oh and im feeding about 1 cube of the frozen food a day half in morning half in evening and some nutrifin pellets midday.

    well they wouldnt touch the garlic and petsmart was out of seaweed and algae sheets. goin to try lfs. blue tang looks horrible some of the white dots are dark now she acts the same swimming up and down the glass looks anxious. im hopin she fights through it im headed to find some veggies and selcon or kent C ill post later

    also going to do a 30% water change later to try to get rid of nitrates

    The only time you will ever see ich is when it is in its pregnant stages. And for a fish that gets ich it takes about ten days for it to become pregnant. so it probably already had ich when you bought it. But the best thing to do is quarantine it. I would just quarantine him and do a hyposalinity before copper. I believe copper does more harm than good. I had a powder blue tang and it died from the copper, he was in my quarantine and when i dosed the copper he stressed and died. In the main tank you can raise the temp and that will speed up the life of the parasite so it dies faster. but if you do that make sure you are adding a little more oxygen to the tank because the warming the water gets the harder it is to hold oxygen.
