Christmas eve I noticed my powder blue and my naso tang had a bunch of little white dots all over them. I didn't have time to yank them and put them in a qt . I did get the naso out the next day and the pb tang was m.I.a. The naso passed away and I found my pb dead later. Then on saterday I found the rest of my fish had these little pin sized dots all over them. So I ripped apart my sps dt(lots of fun) and put them in a qt. They seem to be getting better . The cloudy eyes have cleared , eating , and swimming strong. They aren't struggling to breath so I think they are going to pull through. How long do I leave them out of my dt for what ever this is to cycle? Btw I did treat the qt with meds. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you need to leave the dt empty for several weeks to make sure the ich is gone. I'm not sure exactly how long, but I'm sure someone else on here does.

Good luck!! I hope they pull through.

I believe you need to keep them out of the DT for at least 30 days after they show no more signs of the disease.

Agree six weeks is the very minimum for ich to live out and die it's life cycle. By the time you wait out the six week however I would go ahead and leave them out for another two weeks so you can be completely sure.

Thanks for the help everyone. So far all the fish are fine and no sighns of anything on them. Does any one know the difference between ich or velvet? Is it the same time for it to cycle for velvet? The reason is I don't beleive it's ich. The white spots never rose off the fish. It was a ton of little white spot all over them about the size of a pin head. Plus my naso tang had the same white dots but had a few brown lessions. My mimic tanghad the same leasions Sorry for the mis spelling.

Well here's an update. I had to switch meds after my anthia, clown, mimic tang died. Went to copper but too little too late. Then I lost my manderian and my scopas tang. It's like WTF?!! So the last of them is my two basseletts. Now just gotta wait out the cycle. This is the second time a powder blue has wiped out all my fish so it's not a
    fish I'm ment to keep.
