Not enough UV for that tank to control ich, but since you only have 2 small fish left you can put them in a small qt tank w/ med and leave your display tank fallow for 2 months.

yea unfortunly theres not a snowballs chance i'm gonna be able to get ahold of either of them.... my groby's under the sand 90% of the time with the pistol.. the uv more for water clear n was told that if i got a big enough unit to kill the ich it would also kill the stuff in the water that my corals want so it's a win lose i know.....:-/ as for the fallow will it still work with whats in it???

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I doubt you would notice any detriment using an adequate UV, that would not be a concern. How effective one will be is debatable but you can not really go wrong using one, no harm done. If you have one use it.

The parasite needs a fish host, no other type will do. Fallow in this case means without fish, inverts are fine.

Many beginners in this hobby including myself make the mistake of trying to go the cheap or easy route to try and save time and money but it ends up coming back and biting you in the behind. Your best bet is to get an cheap qt tank and get your fish out of the DT and start dosing copper. You can leave your corals and inverts in the DT as ich is a fish only disease. You might be able to get the ich to subside with adding another UV but what happens when you add another fish to your system and it has ich as well? I learned the hard way by not having a qt tank to quarantine my fish before they entered my DT. If I would of listened to people who have been in this hobby longer than me and quarantined my fish from the start I wouldn't be dealing with this right now and I'd probably still have my tang too. Whatever you decide on doing good luck!
