ICH?!Why you shouldn't panic if you get Ich

    No, ich is an obligate feeder. The mechanism for WHY these immune fishes are unaffected is unknown but still being studied. However, because they are an obligate feeder, without a host, the ich dies. Ich simply cannot attack fish that are immune. I spent 15 minutes finding those studies for you because so many people believe your above statement. I felt it would be good for everyone who believes this myth. However, the reality, is that ich is not always present.

    Ever had chiggers? They're a annoying little microscopic parasite that burrows under your skin and the resulting itch is maddening. Now imagine that coupled with not having hands and someone to put lotion on for you.

    I didn't panic but I did get my fish into qt and began treatment to get rid of it. The fish are miserable when they are infected and it's my opinion that we need to take all the steps necessary to get them healed as quickly and as safely as possible.

    i agree with Curt.the only time i get ANY ick is after i add a new fish.i dnt QT, and its only the new fish that gets it if at all, all others are ickless. i just make sure i supplement thier food for a month til the ick in the new fish goes away
