My Queen Trigger is a little larger than the average reef fish, and on her dorsal fin, you can see little squiggle where the ich burrowed in. The fin is translucent, and the burrows look to be over 1/8" long. I'm sorry, but cleaner shrimp or garlic in their food will not make ich go away. It can "go away on it's own", but it is still in the tank.

So much miss info on Ich. There have been many posts about this. Inwall even had a link to a scientific study where the fish built up an immunity to the ich and the Ich started to die off, they had to add new fish to the tank to keep the life cylce in tact. So please stop saying once its in your tank it will always be.

i come from dealing with ich and velvet. I believe pull the fish out treat with rid-ich and copper in the QT tank let your DT sit for 7+ weeks and no more ich. I have done this successful once the other time i caught velvet right after and that was a total loss but this last time all surived except my yellow jawfish cause well just couldn't get him out. I have even bought fish with ich on them knowing i will QT for 2 months and they are in my DT just fine and living well.

My powder blue gets ick whenever i do a water change :( but i feed garlic seaweed daily at the same time and do the vita chem to the food at night and the ick is gone in matter of hours. They are really beautiful and great open water fish like you said :)

garlic ISN'T a medicine or a cure, it just promotes them to eat and strengthen their immune system kinda like how garlic is good for our immune systems.
