Alright 3reefers, I need your brainy help on this one. The picture is in the attachment, I hope people can see it well enough. It's some worm-like creature that lives in the LR, it's got antennae and a red, round mouth. I hope that that helps describe the pic a little more. The thing I need advice with is it seems to spread some sort of mucus-like net over the LR, I saw it sucking in these strands last night. I have a pocillopora near it that hasn't extended its polyps as much recently and looks burnt/dead on one side and I haven't been able to figure out why until I found this guy. Could it be the reason?

All input very welcome! Thanks in advance.

Interesting...my wife noticed a string of mucus-like stuff hanging off our crocea. I will have to investigate.

IME, killing that offending vermetid is cheap insurance for your clam.

The one I had annoy my last maxima was on the clam's shell.

Can someone show me where the vermetid snail is in the pic? And a vermetid snail isn't going to pester a coral anymore than any other algae destroying snail. This is the first I have heard of destroying a perfectly good part of a cuc.........

If a "brown-like" "stringy stuff", maybe expelling zooxanthellae algae?
