    this thing. that somewhat resembles some type of slug has been in my tank for a long time but this is the first time we have been able to get a clear picture of it. it doesnt seem to bother anything but who knows. it appears to have segments. any help would be great thanks

    A better picture would help us figure out what it is. The one you posted is a bit blurry

    that is as good as i can get it. it took a year to get that one. thats how it looks its not really very blurry.

    The best thing to do is to remove it and isolate it for ID. Whenever you get the chance to catch, do. ID him, then if he is ok, re-release him. You never know, he might be harmless, but he can also wreak havoc.

    your absolutely right rickzeter. i've been trying for a year. that picture is the most i have seen it out. there was still some going in a hole in a rock. to this point i have no reason to think its hurting anything, i guess if i get desperate enough i will take the whole rock out.

    So what damage has it done in the year he has been in your tank?
    time is the best test as to whether or not something is going to be ok in your tank
    Oh and just in case it is an alien you could put on a tin foil hat and try talking to it
