I got the rock with green clove polyps and with it there were 3 strange creatures that have appeared. They seem to like my tank because they are growing very well. I tried to identify them but was unable to find anything that was similar. The cloves were from Indonesia-- there is a mushroom like algae that covers a ???? . I though it might be a sea apple but it doesn't have tentacles. Then this plant started to grow--at first it was a light translucent brown, now it is much bigger and sliver on the top and gold on the bottom???? What in the world do I have??? I have to make dinner now but will check back later---Oh please help!

Thank you Ziggy. The creature under it opens and closes its mouth. At night it sticks it out further and the mouth is a orange color the rest of it body is the round green thing, there is another small one at the other end of the rock. They get real excited when I feed the phytoplankton, and their mouths open and close as they eat.

No, it's not a scallop. It's body is soft and the mouth is part of it not inside. The mouth does remind of a claim mouth but no shell. I have a new pic of it , took it this morning when it was extended out further---it did not pull in even with the flash. By the way is brown flake bad??? Should I remove it??

Looks like you have a little DINOFLAGELLATES problem.

Dino's occasionally bloom in reef aquaria, and they can be toxic to invertebrates and fish. They form nearly colorless to rust brown or green gelatinous mats and films that trap oxygen bubbles. They can also be present in large numbers in the water column and on the surface of the water during a bloom. They coat bare surfaces so quickly that it is futile to siphon them off."
