ive had that before as well, the only way i got rid of it was by taking it out manually and hoping you got it all out of the rocks, ive got tangs and they didnt touch it.

looks more like halmedia to me...if it were ulva the previous poster would have no problems getting rid of it with tangs...halmedia (money plant) is a calcareous algae, it is slow growing and relatively easy to maintain....it is very nice and natural looking...i wish i could get some around here...yours looks like the Hawaiian variety as it has much bigger "leaves" then the Caribbean variety.

as for removal....you need a fish called "Manual Labourintensive" LOL....nothing will eat it..(at least not enough to control it..)

Ok, good call – I disagree due to the formation of the leaves and the variation on the ends . but none-the-less a viable option. Once again, the OP needs to google the images and come back with their conclusion on our thoughts.

I tried to identify it before i posted and could not really find anything. Should have stated i have sailfin tang, flame angel and various snails none of which will touch it.

start by cutting it up in small sections that way it will sort of naturally start to remove itself, then as you go along just start to pull it off, personally i kept a little to fill my rock in and have it look more natural but you have to watch it and look and make sure its growing the way you want it to annd if not, snip it off

I did a search for Anadyome and found a site guamreeflife. It has some amazing algae pics. So i actually found it and it is Udotea spp. I'm not that good at describing stuff but the leaves are fairly brittle and snap in half when trying to remove. It took off fast after trying to pick it off rather than just removing the rock it was on. A few peices have shown up in coral but i think that zoas and gsp are growing into it rather than vice versa. Anyways thank you John for sending me in right direction and i will see what i can find out about it now.
