    I dont exactly see anything except rock and a hammer or GSP on the bottom of the pic.

    Try and get a better pic of what exactly we are ID'ing.

    I see a rock with coralline on it. :)

    Can you get a more clear picture or point out what it is you're seeing?

    It is a type of algae. It is the reddish brown stripes.

    cyano maybe? if it is, ChemiClean, flow, and water changes are needed.

    Is it really that bad? I'm not keen on using chemicals in my tank I'm trying to keep it as natural as possible

    And you don't need any chemicals to take care of a little cyano. Address the nutrient problem (ie - find the source) and it will go away on it's own.
