its not necessarily harmful. if anything, it'll keep your ammonia and nitrates stable (if it is cyano) I'll get a link so you can identify. and the chemicals just get ridof it faster. natural disposal will work though.

Nitrates and/or phosphates. Could be from overfeeding, improperly preparing the food you are feeding, or your water change source water/top off water. Or a combination.

    So basically:
    What do you feed?
    How do you feed?
    How often do you feed?
Do you always use RO/DI water?

3 weeks old? There's your real problem. It's a phase most new tanks go through, and will likely clear on it's own in a few weeks. If it doesn't you are fueling it somehow.

You say DI water, I presume that's filtered by RO prior to the DI? I'm guessing you buy your water? You may want to test that water next time you buy some for both nitrates and phosphates, which brings me to the point of a phosphate test kit would be a wise investment.

Thank you for your help I just worry about this tank a lot.

I have been buying distilled water I will test it next time, as well as buy a phosphate test kit, is there a level it should be at or 0?

    Again thank you
