Id please

Recently my LR had alot of short purple "root" like things grow all over and yesterday i notice some of them have flower like stuff growing beside. Anyone know what that is?

 

Looks to be some type of macro algae but it's not grown enough to make an accurate ID. I am inclined to say Red Dictyota.

Thanks for the info. Will let it grow bigger for ID before doing something to it.

 

If it's Dictoyta the growth will become increasingly dense, a clumping form.
Given enough nutrients and light it will grow and you might have to intervene. I have had it pop up on power heads and here and there but it never become invasive.

 

Ic. Will monitor further. If its not invasive and look nice might just keep them.
