I have been fighting this stuff for a while now. I use RO/DI and do frequent water changes. It might help if I knew what this particular nuisance was.

Well I would attach pictures, but I am having trouble uploading. I guess I need help with that first.

Its like a brown fuzz all over my live rock. Some of it has bubbles in it. It is also in the sand not a fuzzy in the sand though.

I finally got some pics up. Luna, I am not sure what you mean by LHA. I have had red bubble algae in the overflow and I doesn't look like this, thankfully it is gone. I have also battled hair algae. As soon as I beat the hair algae this brown fuzz decided to show up, and the more I do the more it spreads.

Get a handful of Astraea snails, depending on the size of your tank. When I need them, I buy like 15-30 of them at a time. They do a great job.

Thanks for the replies. I am down to only two astreas in a 55 gal tank. I cant seem to keep them alive.

The algae does not look like the Dinoflagellates.

I am thinking Luna is correct. Usually my hair algae is green and, well, hair like. But, this could also be a type. Although this is spreading much more rapidly than the hair algae I have had in the past.
