    its not capricornus, the growth tip looks like digitata. spongodes is also an option.

    the polyps on a Montipora spongodes are brown, even the polyps on this guy is bright green

    Don't ID a coral on its color. The polyps, corallites, growth tips and the overall structure should give you the best idea. It could be pink and purple and still be spongodes (that's a stretch but you get the idea.)

    They can be on spongodes. Your piece there is growing kinda funky. Going to have to let it get settled and grow out more to get a better idea.

    What is the texture like? Do you have any pics with the polyps retracted?
